Preparing For Distant Reiki Attunement
As a Usui Reiki Master, I am often facilitating distant attunements for students all over the world. One of the most often asked questions is: "How shall I prepare myself to receive the attunement? " The following is a preparation I have created that may assist a student in getting the most out of their Reiki attunement, or any attunement for that matter. This plan includes work with the pendulum, a popular tool with Light Workers. 1. UNWIND Start to unwind at least two hours before your attunement. Consciously decide to relax and let all things go. If you have any "issues" from the day, please ask God to help you release them now. The more you are able to prepare in this way, the more Light will come to you. Fill a glass of water, bless the water and ask that all of the toxins in your body be removed with the water for this sacred event. Ask that the water will be transformed to Light within your body. 2. PREPARE AND BLESS SPACE 30 MINUTES BEFOREHAND: Decide where you will take the attunement. Prepare, and cleanse/bless the space using any means you wish. I like to clear the space by drawing the four Reiki symbols in each corner of the room, or on all sides of where I will be laying. Then I pendul the space with a clear quartz pendulum to finish clearing if needed. A prayer during this moment is very powerful. After this, please light a candle in your honor. This is a prayer I have written specifically for the attunement, if you wish to use it. "I am Light. I invite the power, love and light of God to attune me, on all levels, in all space and time, in all dimensions, to Reiki according to God's will for me, and for my highest good. I instruct all parts of my being to fully accept this loving Reiki attunement. I release all blockages to my peace and affirm I am Love and nothing else. I will use this Reiki attunement to heal myself. My desire is to connect with source, and this is my will. I ask that Love be present for me now and forever as I dedicate to journey home. I surrender this entire attunement to God. (or whatever you wish to call your source) And so it is. Amen." 3. REIKI/DEDICATION PENDY If you would like to dedicate/reiki your pendulum at the same time, please do the following things right before the attunement: After you light the candle and have said your prayer, draw the four Reiki symbols into each palm. It doesn't have to be perfect. If you do not know how to draw the symbols, simply place your hands in prayer position and say the name of the symbols. Intent is all that is important. Use the pendy dedication in the files. Pendul both palms before the attunement to balance your chakras, then lay your pendy on your chest at the heart chakra during the attunement. 4. RELAX Simply lay down, relax yourself. Invite Dr. Usui to be present if you wish. I invite him in for my part. Take your time. I would give the attunement about 30 minutes if you can. Try to pick a time to receive when there will be no distractions. Turn off the phone. 5. DURING THE ATTUNEMENT Please continue to breathe. Be aware of any tension in your muscles and joints. Let it go. If your mind begins to race, say: "I invite only Stillness, Love and Light." Repeat as often as necessary. Gently pull yourself back. The following is a simple meditation I put together for the actual attunement if you wish to use it: Imagine your attunement as a beautiful, shimmering and most sacred golden Light that is now all around you, on all sides. It slowly begins to embrace all parts of you. Imagine that when the light touches each part of you, it brightens and relaxes you further. Imagine this light penetrating you to the depths of your soul. Imagine the Angels all around you standing witness to this attunement. Imagine them laying their hands on your body and the light that emanates from their hands. Imagine their great unconditional love for you. Affirm that you accept their love and their light. Imagine God, Jesus, or Usui, Buddha or any other being, laying their hands atop your head at the crown chakra. Imagine that they affirm you are now receiving the gift that has always been yours. Imagine they kiss you upon your forehead and the light from this kiss lights your entire mind. And now, these Light beings dissolve into the same golden light and infuse with your body and mind. As they infuse with you, your body becomes lighter and brighter. Your heart is bright with this golden light. Affirm: "I am Light, I am Love". You can use any mediation or visualization. The process is potent. Before you stand up, please hang your feet over the bed, couch, etc., for a few minutes as you offer a prayer of gratitude to your Angels and Guides, etc., for the awareness of the truth of who/what you really are.
