Your Depression Diet Plan

Depression diet information...
NUTRITIONAL DEFICIENCIES LEAD TO
AND/OR SUPPORT DEPRESSION
FACT: 85% of Americans
suffer from nutritional deficiency. "How can that be," You say.
We live in the USA (most readers anyway ;-) ), the land of the rich and
abundant. How could we possibly be deficient? It's an easy answer.
We consume tremendous amounts of caffeine, sugar, simple carbohydrates (junk
food) and the majority of our food is 'processed.' Processing of food
takes much of what's good out of the food, so you get full but your body is not
getting what it needs.
Now, what does this have to do with
a depression diet? A deficiency in the following vitamins cause depression
symptoms.
-
Vitamin B1
-
Vitamin B2
-
Vitamin B3
-
Vitamin B6
-
Vitamin B12
-
Biotin
-
Pantothenic acid
-
Folic acid
-
Vitamin C
One
solution for a successful depression diet is simply to add supplements. I
am a huge believer in supplements, although a convert from a previously more
conservative approach. Two qualities were most important to me as I
researched vitamin companies. Purity & Price! I've been ordering
online from The
Vitamin Shoppe for over five years now and have been quite happy with
both their purity and pricing structure. In preparation for your
depression diet, compare Vitamin Shoppe to your local pharmacy or health food
store on price and natural ingredients.
DON'T START A DEPRESSION DIET
BEFORE GETTING TESTED TO KNOW FOR SURE...
Before beginning any type of a
depression diet, get yourself a thorough physical from your family doctor to see
where your deficiencies are. No need to waste effort and cash on a
depression diet if you are already in balance, however, keep in mind that 85%
are not in balance so please do not skip this step. Here is what to talk
to your doctor about:
-
Full blood panel
-
Thyroid test, making sure to
check T(3), T(4) and TSH.
-
Urinalysis
-
Cytotoxic blood test
-
Hair and nail analysis (even
though many doctors still do not feel confident about this last test, the
results are amazing. In fact, if I had to choose only two out of these
five very important tests I would choose two and five.)
FOR A PROPER DEPRESSION DIET EAT
RIGHT FOR THE BODY TYPE YOU HAVE!
I had been looking for the correct
depression diet for myself and I read a book last year which made me very happy!
Although I had seen a couple of different nutritionists, one of American
schooling and one of Macrobiotic training, they both had me convinced I was
primarily a vegetarian. I was bummed, needless to say! I loved and
still love protein in every meal. Along came The
Metabolic Typing Diet by William Wolcott. In it is a very accurate 64
question test. It is in multiple choice format.. Every question really
makes you think. Here's a sample question:
Eating Before Bed
Eating before bed helps some people
sleep better, while it clearly disrupts other people's sleep. For
some, it depends on what they eat. For others, eating anything at all
is a problem. This question concerns the latter.
Possible Answers:
Eating just about anything before going to bed:
-
disrupts or worsens my
sleep.
-
doesn't seem to make a
difference; I can take it or leave it.
-
usually helps me sleep
better.
See now how it really makes you
think. I took this test and I scored as a primary "Protein
Type," much to my surprise. I thought I was deluding myself, so I
requested my wife take it for me. She scored me higher than I had as a
Protein Type. I took it a third time for good measure ;-) Then... I
immediately shifted my recovery depression diet to eating a 50-30-20 split
between protein, carbs and fats.
What's the magic here? I have
already been in recovery from depression for 10 years. I considered it
good recovery, no depression! I had, however, continued to struggle with
energy. Bam! Knowing exactly how I was supposed to eat for my
body type took care of the energy problem. But, back to the magic... the
magic of this depression diet solution is there is no list of foods for you to
eat here on this page for depression diet recovery. The fact is, and
please listen closely here, the depression diet formed around your metabolic
type is perfectly suited to you and will improve your depression.
I have known patients of mine who
have only treated their depression through a depression diet and have
overcome depression by that one intervention. I highly recommend you read
Wolcott's book. You deserve the chance to be happy and energetic.
WHAT IF YOU'RE OBESE AND
DEPRESSED?
Before you begin a depression diet,
you will want to know about your "set point." In fact,
knowing your metabolic type in addition learning about your set point is
invaluable in weight loss. The newly released ebook, The
Surprising Secret To Weight Loss was an eye- catcher for me. The
author Dr. Robert Nganele, sent me a complimentary copy for review. Dr.
Nganele is a medical research trainer. He knows his stuff. This is a
must read. Your set point is the reason why weight loss is so challenging to you
and it's also what's behind gaining the weight back after you've lost it.
You can download it immediately to add to your depression diet plan by clicking
on the link above.
You've got the tools above to make a
depression diet perfectly for YOU! Don't hesitate. You have
approximately 12 hours before the information on this page leaves your
short-term memory circuits (no kidding!). Act now.
